Attorney Drew Scott Betts is a proud partner and founder of Laurel Law LLC. She was sworn into practice by United States District Judge Ann Aiken in October 2020. Drew spent the last four years working as an associate at Costello Law Office, P.C., gaining experience in a multitude of civil practice areas. Prior to her time as an associate, Drew worked at the Southwestern Oregon Public Defender's Office, where she practiced adult criminal, civil commitment, juvenile delinquency, and juvenile dependency cases.

Drew is a proud double Duck, having earned both her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Oregon. She feels the most at home in the courtroom, advocating for her clients and pressing issues of fairness and accountability.

Drew has a strong commitment to expanding access to justice for the greater Coos County area. Her goal is to provide high-quality legal services close to home. Drew is currently accepting cases involving family law, criminal defense, contract disputes, estate planning, probate, and more.

Brenton Erickson is thrilled to be a founding partner of Laurel Law and is excited to provide stellar legal representation as part of a vibrant, assertive, and creative law firm.

Brenton earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan and his bachelors in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University. After graduating from law school, Brenton joined the Utah Bar and spent his first two years of practice as a defense attorney with the Utah County Public Defenders Association.

After moving to the Oregon Coast with his partner at the start of 2023, Brenton joined the Oregon Bar and spent a year and a half as a criminal defense attorney at SWOPDS where he was specially assigned to assist with more complex legal arguments as the office's Research and Writing Attorney. Before founding Laurel Law with his fellow partners, he spent two years as a sole practitioner representing clients in a wide variety of criminal cases in counties throughout Oregon.

Brenton loves researching nuanced legal issues and finding cutting-edge solutions for his clients wherever possible. He's prepared and confident, whether he's fielding detailed legal questions from a judge or breaking down a complicated case for a jury.

At home, Brenton spends most of his free time caring for his two dogs, Maggie and Scout, reading the most recent novel or historical work to catch his eye, and diving into his newest TV obsession.

Brenton is dedicated to providing South Coast residents with the kind of responsive and precise legal representation that can be hard to find in rural areas. And he's excited to offer that representation right here in North Bend. He is currently accepting cases in criminal defense, estate planning, probate, family law, contract disputes, and more.

Taylor is a proud partner and founder of Laurel Law. Taylor hails originally from Southern Utah, where she grew up among the red rock cliffs and lava rock valleys. After attending college in Utah, she briefly stopped over in Charlotte, North Carolina for a year while her husband, Laurel Law paralegal Willy Sauer, finished graduate school. She attended law school at Lewis and Clark in Portland Oregon where she participated in the Criminal Justice Reform Clinic and worked as an intern and then CLE for Metropolitan Public Defenders.

After graduation, she applied to several public defender offices around the state. It only took one visit to Coos County for an interview for Taylor and Willy to fall in love with the area and immediately picture a longstanding future here. Taylor spent three years working for Southwestern Oregon Public Defenders (SWOPDS), where she tried 12 cases in her first 12 months of practice. Taylor focuses on jury trials and jury selection, as one of her favorite parts of the job is learning about people and the way they see the world. This skill applies to the work she does with her clients as well as she takes on a client-centered approach for every matter.

For the past two years, Taylor has practiced with Willy as her paralegal, continuing to take unrepresented people in criminal defense cases across the state of Oregon. While this practice has been fulfilling, Taylor is excited to once again serve the people of Coos County in this exciting new position as a partner at Laurel Law.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time at her family's favorite local beach with her two dogs, Moshi and Bindi.
